Hi, I’m Helen, a TEFL-certified English tutor based in St Albans I have a background in English, social work, and teaching. I offer a warm, inclusive, and personalized approach to learning. My lessons are tailored to your interests, needs, and learning style—whether you’re improving conversational skills, studying for work, or preparing for life in the UK. Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) – Whether you're new to English, need to improve for business, or want to refine grammar and conversation skills; I offer 1:1 lessons, usually online, but sometimes face-to-face. Lessons are informal, fun, and tailored to your needs, following recognised lesson plans and an English-only teaching method.
I can incorporate your hobbies and interests—e.g. music, TV, museums, film, pets —while ensuring lessons suit different learning styles and accessibility needs.
Ages 7 to adult, all levels from beginners to advanced.

Proofreading & Editing – With 17+ years in social work and a strong background in English, I specialise in social work reports but also edit academic, professional, and creative writing. I offer grammar, structure, and flow improvements, with ongoing support to refine your work.
